Competency is not just about possessing natural talent; it's about mastering the art of problem-solving. Work is not one of the bad four letter words - it’s Godly. This episode encourages us to see work as a godly pursuit that builds confidence and competency as Pastor Stephen teaches us how embracing God’s view of work can transform not only your professional life but also your spiritual growth.
CORE COMPETENCIES
1. Solving Problems
You are paid to solve problems. Might sound harsh but as members of God’s family, we love you no matter what but as members of this staff Vintage Church pays you to solve problems.
· Start with your job description.
· Make it your job to fight for clarity.
· Get rewarded for going above and beyond.
2. Team Building
You will soon discover if you haven’t already that there will never be enough hours in a day or days in a week for you to get it all done. This is normal.
· Ephesians 4 calls us to equip the saints for good works.
· Not using people, because remember what the result of your leadership is: Unity and Maturity.
3. Execution & Implementation
I’ve noticed over the years, the older an organization gets, the more they talk and the less they act or do.
· We do less so that we can do more. We intentionally focus so that we can execute and implement in those things we value most.
· Don’t measure by what you can do but by what you can get done. You don’t have to be the best at everything, you just need to know who is and give them rails to run.
