THESE NOTES ACCOMPANY EPISODE 0049
Have you ever felt stuck between a rock and a hard place, unsure of what to do next? In today's episode, Pastor Stephen unpacks the final instruction given to the Israelites: "Go Forward." After learning to stand still and hold their peace, it was time for action. But stepping out in faith can feel daunting, especially when circumstances don’t make sense. Learn how to overcome the paralysis of fear and uncertainty, and discover the power of stepping out in faith when God calls.
In situations of pressure and uncertainty God does something in us to prepare us for the future
3 Causes of Paralysis in Uncertainty
The paralysis of experience: The past has a powerful way of paralyzing you in the future if you let it. Your past can inform you but only God’s Word transforms you.
The paralysis of analysis: You stop moving forward and start evaluating everything. You get drawn into distractions: Like conspiracy theories, you doubt everyone, you may even become the expert in areas you know nothing about… sound familiar?
Maybe you are facing the paralysis of the past: Maybe you hear the enemy shouting, “If they only knew what you did. What you did is unforgivable. How could God use you?” Maybe you hear the lies, the enemy telling you that you are no good – not worthy of God’s love, grace or help.
Hebrews 11:6 And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.
We see the result of faith after the step of faith.
How Do You Go Forward:
We go with God.
Psalm 119:105 says: Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
We go to what’s next.
Psalm 37:23 says: The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.
We go by taking action.
John 10:27 says: My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.
When you find yourself facing pressure and uncertainty:
You settle your fears.
You stand in your faith.
You find God’s peace.
Then you step out. Just do it.
