EPISODE 0008 | Grasping God’s Plan For Your Life
THESE NOTES ACCOMPANY EPISODE 0008
We see God reveal Himself through creation, but creation on its own doesn’t tell the whole story. Today, Pastor Stephen teaches from Psalm 19 about how creation points to a greater reality of a Creator who is intentional, thoughtful, and has a plan, and how the Word allows us to grasp God’s plan for our lives.
SHOW NOTES:
Three Ways God Leads Us:
1. He leads us through creation.
Psalm 19:1-6 (NLT) "The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make him known. They speak without a sound or word; their voice is never heard. Yet their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the world. God has made a home in the heavens for the sun. It bursts forth like a radiant bridegroom after his wedding. It rejoices like a great athlete eager to run the race. The sun rises at one end of the heavens and follows its course to the other end. Nothing can hide from its heat."
2. He leads us through His Word.
Psalm 19:7-9 (NKJV) "The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether."
David also gives us a template for how to Know God through His Word:
1. The Law of the LORD is perfect.
2. The Testimony of the LORD is sure.
3. The Statutes of the LORD are right.
4. The Commandment of the LORD is pure.
5. The Fear of the LORD is clean.
6. The Judgments of the LORD are true & righteous.
Psalm 19:9-11 (NKJV) The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether." More to be desired are they than gold, Yea, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them Your servant is warned, And in keeping them there is great reward.
3. He Leads us by His Spirit
Psalm 143:10 (NLT) Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. May your gracious Spirit lead me forward on a firm footing.
