How The Bible is Structured
It includes:
· History
· Poetry
· Prophecy
· Wisdom, and
· Teaching
Old Testament Structure

These books recount Israel’s history, from their entry into the Promised Land to the return from exile.
3. Wisdom and Poetry
Books: Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon
These books offer insights into life, worship, and human experience in relation to God.
For example:
Psalm 1:3 (NLT) They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.

Books: Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel, Daniel
These prophets spoke God’s messages during critical moments in Israel’s history.

New Testament Structure
1. Gospels
Books: Matthew, Mark, Luke, John
These books tell the story of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection.
It’s important to note these four books are accounts of the same gospel: not four different gospels. God is giving us four different perspectives of the same gospel.
